I like the idea that several people can be working on a document and changing information.
The camping example is a good example of using this in everday life.
Wikis can be used in libraries to create book lists, review books.
I have been skeptical about students using wikipedia since it can be changed, but is seems that so many people use it. I think it might be a good place to start but should not be used as a final reference for research.
I tried to edit a Mn. Historical Society wiki.
